Senior Estimator

Platinum Global Talent Solutions is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Estimator to play a pivotal role in preparing estimates for various infrastructure construction projects within our clients firm.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a meticulous review of proposal specifications, drawings, and actively participate in pre-bid meetings to delineate the scope of work and essential elements of the estimate.
• Integrate historical data sourced from purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity analysis reports into unit and person-hour figures to refine estimation accuracy.
• Provide invaluable technical insights on project and contract risks to the lead estimator, facilitating final bid price approval and ensuring seamless alignment with overarching project schedules and cost objectives.
• Execute discipline-specific estimates through a thorough assessment of the scope of work, conducting comprehensive take-offs, and meticulously calculating material quantity requirements from engineering drawing dimensions.
• Foster collaborative engagements with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to formulate estimates, address concerns, and swiftly resolve any emerging issues, ensuring streamlined project progression.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is an imperative prerequisite.
• Demonstrable expertise with a minimum of 5 years in the construction industry, with a pronounced focus on estimating or cost control.
• Profound knowledge and hands-on experience in alternative construction delivery methods to navigate multifaceted project landscapes adeptly.
• Mandatory possession of company or regulatory certifications, inclusive of safety certifications, to uphold the highest standards of compliance and operational integrity.
• Advanced proficiency in leveraging HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software to streamline estimation processes and enhance efficiency.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal acumen to deliver clear, cogent support for research, recommendations, and pricing strategies.
• Strong command over technical writing, coupled with a knack for effective time management and prioritization to meet stringent turnaround and bid deadlines.
• Proven ability to collaborate seamlessly and assume leadership roles in driving pursuit and estimating activities, particularly within large-scale or intricate projects.

Additional Responsibilities

• Vigilantly monitor client addenda and provide timely advisories to the estimating team on evolving changes during the estimate period, ensuring adaptability and responsiveness.
• Contribute substantively to the evaluation of design review options, offering astute recommendations aligned with cost-effectiveness, engineering quality, and material availability.
• Actively collaborate with the estimating team to meticulously orchestrate project hand-off meetings between the pursuit team and project management team, fostering seamless transitions and alignment of objectives.
• Undertake diligent research endeavours to identify and recommend optimal vendors and subcontractors for designated scopes of work, fostering synergistic partnerships to achieve pursuit and cost goals.
• Uphold a comprehensive understanding of the companys values and strategic imperatives, aligning operational endeavours with overarching organizational directives.
• Diligently support and ensure adherence to published corporate policies, thereby reinforcing a culture of accountability and operational excellence throughout the organization.

The salary range for this full-time role is USD $155,000 - $185,000/ year.
