Construction Technician II
Wage: $31- $35
Reports To: Superintendent
Job Purpose: The Construction Technician II is responsible for having intermediate knowledge in all trades including carpentry, tiling, painting, framing, roofing, and dry wall to light plumbing and electrical.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carpentry: repairing cabinets, rebuilding cabinets, trim work, interior and exterior doors, basic framing interior, deck repairs, and landing repairs.
- Electrical: light fixtures, light switches, thermostats, and outlets.
- Plumbing: valves, sinks, faucets, angle stops, top-out, disposals, dishwashers, and toilets.
- Drywall: hanging, taping, various textures, and patch/repairs.
- Painting: caulking, spackle, roller, and airless on walls, trim, and cabinetry.
- Work safety and job-site cleanliness
- Daily project updates utilizing company selected electronic interfaces.
Qualifications:
- Must have (3/5) years’ experience in Construction or 5 years in specific Trade
- Own and use hand tools and/or power tools.
- Must have vehicle to haul own tools and construction supplies.
- Works diligently when independent.
- Can work with no supervision.
- Knows how to problem solve issues in the field.
- Ability to partner with new technician to educate and support them.
- Ability to complete paperwork timely.
- Can manage a calendar and time manage appropriately.
- Working knowledge of mobile applications including email, video and photo messaging, calendars and electronic time keeping.
- Works daily adhering to company safety standards.
- Communicates effectively to deliver exceptional customer service.
Physical Demands:
- Heavy work: exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Ascends/descends ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
- Maintain balance in all situations.
- Push, pull and frequently carry objects such as tools, materials, and equipment.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- Stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Coordinate movement with eyes, hands, fingers, and feet.
- See and hear well with or without correction to avoid safety hazards to themselves and others.
