The Food Service Coordinator is a rewarding role that provides nutrition services for students at the Dahlberg Gibson Learning Center in Columbus. A career has never been so rewarding in our caring work environment.

Openings:

• Food Service Coordinator, Full-Time, 40 hours / week
• Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm or 7:30am - 4:00pm
• Location: Dahlberg Gibson Learning Center, Columbus, Ohio

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED. Bachelor's degree in field related to nutrition, dietetics, or food studies preferred.
• Food service, education or training.
• Knowledge of Federal Food Program guidelines.
• Experience in a school environment.
• Maintain current ServeSafe Certificate.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day.

Duties:

• Creates monthly menu that meets meal pattern requirements of CACFP and distributes to staff, families and regulatory agencies.
• Partners with food vendors to order and purchase food and kitchen supplies in accordance with budget.
• Collaborates with teachers and therapists to assist children in developing fine and oral motor skills with food choices.
• Collaborates with community service organizations to support the nutritional needs of the DGLC families.
• Provides supervision, training and coaching of kitchen assistants, as well as annual training to classroom staff on required CACFP requirements and guidelines.
• Provides educational classes/information related to nutrition to children and families.
• Maintains a safe and sanitary kitchen and storage areas while adhering to all applicable laws and health department regulations.
