CHILD CARE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM GOALS:

  • To assist low-income families with their child care expenses.
  • To improve the quality and availability to programs which will enhance the educational, social, cultural and emotional development of children.
  • Embed the best quality of care and learning to promote optimal development in young children in a high-quality environment.


JOB SUMMARY The CCDF Grant Resource Coordinator will provide COVID related resources to all Tribal Communities under the CCDF Program and Child Care Center/Family Home providers. 


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college or university, with a degree in Business Management, Public Administration, or other related field.

OR

  • A minimum of four years of administrative experience, or any combination of experience, training, or other preparation which would indicate possession of the required knowledge, abilities and skills outlined in this position.


ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Program Administration principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of the Tribal communities, including anticipation of their organization and community needs.
  • Knowledge of the Child Care Development Fund program.
  • Knowledge of childcare programs and their needs.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, analyze data, prepare reports and submit in a timely manner.
  • Ability to interpret and apply Federal, State, ITCN and other program guidelines.
  • Ability to work effectively with the Tribal communities, community organizations, CCDF staff, ITCN staff and program representatives.
  • Self-motivated, a self-starter, dependable, and has the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • A positive attitude with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to write clearly and assist with word processing when necessary.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Must possess a valid Nevada’s Driver’s license, a reliable vehicle with insurance and have a good driving record.
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to integrate and merge data from multiple programs including Access, Excel, Word, Power Point and Publisher. 


PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Occasional bending and stooping, reaching above shoulder level and crouching as well as occasional pushing and pulling.
  • Must have average hearing and visual acuity.
  • Must be able to use a phone and operate vehicles.
  • Must have manual dexterity for keyboard and report writing.


SUPERVISORY DUTIES:  None


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Communicate new guidelines and policies & procedures from state and local health departments, the Center for Disease (CDC) control and Tribal governments.
  • Conduct prevention awareness to reduce the spread of COVID
  • Promote the program and services available through media, social media and other mainstream outlets.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs the activities of the ARP Act Grant, with director approval, develops short and long term goals, and strategy planning, allocates resources, and develops schedules to accomplish program goals; forecasts personnel and funding requirements.
  • Coordinates activities and changes in grant funding with Urban and Rural Providers, Tribal Centers and After School Programs.
  • Create, coordinate, and implement CCDF Subgrant Programs
  • Provide preparation and technical assistance, and support related to grant application procedures.
  • Manage all assigned grant submissions to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
  • Create, update and implement health & safety protocols in the Pandemic Preparedness Readiness Plan (PPRP) to CCDF staff.
  • Oversees the life cycle of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARP Act) grant and any other pandemic related grants and ensure contract compliance
  • Work with CCDF participating Tribes to order COVID related supplies and distribution while continuing to promote quality care.
  • Order COVID testing supplies and distribute tests to need sites while maintaining records following HIPPA Law and Regulations.
  • Provide supplies to child care centers, family home providers and CCDF participating Tribal communities & their families.
  • Assist families exposed to COVID with PPE and supplies for prevention.
  • Maintain adequate participant data and statistical information for grant reporting and audit purposes.
  • Assist the Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada Food Pantry and Resource Center.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings and provide feedback & information.
  • Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Provide excellent customer service both internally and to clients & colleagues.
  • Perform office tasks, including billing and invoice submissions
  • All other duties as assigned.
