OVERVIEW

As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. You will ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and security policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components.
  • Deploy and manage Apple Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions for iOS devices.
  • Set up and configure Microsoft Intune for managing endpoints and mobile devices.
  • Administer Entra ID for identity and access management.
  • Support MIS security operations by providing monitoring, protection, reporting, and delivery of all security related services.
  • Provide configuration, maintenance, and operation of security tools to enhance threat prevention, detection, response, and remediation Actively monitor cybersecurity tools and dashboards to identify unusual activities or security breaches.

  • Create automated reporting to capture and report metrics around various security activities.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
  • Optimize system performance through fine-tuning, hardware upgrades, or configuration adjustments.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access or breaches.
  • Configure and manage security policies within MDM and Microsoft Intune.
  • Enforce access controls and multi-factor authentication using Entra ID.
  • Perform regular security audits and ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
  • Provide technical support to users regarding system-related issues.
  • Conduct user training sessions to promote efficient system usage and best practices.
  • Maintain system documentation, including configuration details, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Generate reports on system performance, utilization, and security status.
  • Coordinate with vendors for procurement, support, and maintenance of hardware and software products.
  • Evaluate vendor offerings and make recommendations for new purchases or upgrades.
  • Any other responsibilities assigned/delegated by line manager/supervisor.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
  • Proficiency in operating systems like Windows and virtualization (Azure) technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Experience with MDM solutions (e.g., Apple MDM), Microsoft Intune, and identity management systems like Entrata ID.
  • Understand cyber-security principles and the information security threat landscape. Knowledge of security best practices and industry standards.
  • Experience in security incident response and threat analysis.
  • Understanding of and experience with security-related technologies, systems and tools, including Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems, firewalls, etc.
  • Capable of Maintaining and configuring Microsoft Defender products, Conditional Access, Purview, Sentinel, and other security tools.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Azure Cloud administrator).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity
  • User of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands; and
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
