Description
SFI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting or finance, with extensive experience in financial analysis, accounts payable, cost analysis, and project financial analysis. This position requires a deep understanding of GAAP, governmental accounting, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). Experience in federal contracting and familiarity with the regulatory requirements of federal finance management will be considered a significant asset.
Work Schedule: This position requires three days of onsite work at our Bethesda office, with the option for remote work during the remainder of the week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Manage accounts payable and cost analysis tasks, including invoice review, labor hours verification, expense report audits, and financial reconciliation.
- Prepare monthly program financials, update forecasts, and accurately reconcile billed invoices versus contracts.
- Perform month-end AP & AR reconciliation and provide support for the year-end financial audit.
- Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and CAS.
- Communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally, with internal teams and external partners.
- Take on additional tasks or projects as assigned by the VP of Finance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on working experience in financial analysis or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, governmental accounting, and familiarity with CAS.
- Experience with federal contracting and federal finance management is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
