Facility Maintenance and Construction Worker

Holden Construction INC. is looking for a competent and honest person to fill the open position of Facility Maintenance and Construction Worker. We are looking for someone to ensure the completion of maintenance and construction work at various sites throughout the bay area and surrounding central valley areas. As the point of reference on the job site, you will be a key person for the success and completion of a project. A skilled Facility Maintenance and Construction Worker has a solid background in the field with at least 2 to 5 years experience. Your critical thinking skills and your extensive experience have earned you the ability to coordinate well with others and make quick decisions. The ideal candidate is honest, reliable, and trustworthy. You must be well-organized, communicate well, be a team player, be able to follow instructions, and perform tasks designated by supervisors, managers, etc. We are looking for a candidate who also favors safety above everything else, not only for themselves, but for those around them.

Responsibilities

Willingness to travel to the bay area and other surrounding areas as needed on a daily basis 

Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans

Follow and adhere to schedules assigned and monitor attendance of crew

Observe and complete general and daily responsibilities given

Help train new workers and assist tradespeople

Ensure manpower and resources are adequate

Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met

Observe and ensure that all machinery and equipment are handled properly and safely

Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget

Resolve problems when they arise

Communicate well coworkers

Complete tasks assigned by management in a timely manner

Report on progress to supervisors, managers, engineers etc.

Willingness to hear and communicate well with supervisors and managers

Skills

Proven experience as a facility maintenance technician

In-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, general construction, equipment, and OSHA guidelines

Understanding of electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance/repair

Familiarity with power tools and various other hand tools

Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints is a plus

Framework experience is a plus

Excellent organizational and leadership skills

Self-motivated and reliable

Ability to communicate and report effectively

Aptitude in math

Problem-solving abilities

Good physical condition and stamina

High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.)

MUST BE PHYSICALLY CAPABLE OF PERFORMING THE DUTIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDING BENDING, SQUATTING STRETCHING AND LIFTING UP TO 25 POUNDS ON A REGULAR BASIS. ON OCCASION, MAY BE REQUIRED TO LIFT ITEMS WEIGHING 50 TO 100 POUNDS

A valid CA state driver's license is required
