Position Summary

ITS has an immediate opening for a Vice President of Managed Transportation (MT). This position reports to the CCO and is responsible for the overall development, strategy and ongoing execution of ITS’ Managed Transportation revenue channel and P+L. This position will require both an experienced operator and entrepreneurial mindset with strategic vision in setting the course for one of our most exciting verticals and opportunities, while building out a full Managed Transportation strategy and solution. This person will play a critical role in leveraging existing and future customers and partners. This individual will work closely with the senior executive team of the organization.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement, and execute a strategic vision and playbook for the Managed Trans division that maximizes existing and future products, while meeting or exceeding ITS best-in-class ROI and profitability.
  • Lead all areas of MT division including Strategic sales goals in collaboration with cross-functional teams, innovation/product, labor, technology, value creation, and strategic decisions.
  • Accountable for the MT P&L
  • Lead and continually enhance pricing strategies, including ala carte pricing with variable model structures to meet customer demands and maximize opportunities and profitability while avoiding risk.
  • Develop and maintain high level customer relationships.
  • Develop and maintain high level partner, supplier, and data provider relationships.
  • Develop and offer a suite of services including: TMS, Carrier Procurement & Management, Freight Audit and Payment, Reporting & Analytics
  • Work closely with the CCO and the tech organization in developing and driving configuration and customization of technology platforms for customer sell through.
  • Establish, manage, and measure the division to a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Understand and promote the company values and mission statement and achieve “Excellence in Everything We Do.”

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated record of accomplishment in being a key leader or contributor in building and leading a successful and proven tech-forward, Managed Transportation company, while demonstrating true understanding of how to grow a Software-as-a-Service revenue channel in compliment to ITS other services.

Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business or a related degree preferred, but not required.
  • 7+ years of experience within strategic procurement, supply chain management with a focus on Managed Transportation and/or Software-as-a-Service
  • Excellent leadership and strong interpersonal skills. A proven coach and motivator, with a strong customer service orientation for both the internal and external customer.
  • Experience in negotiating multi-million-dollar agreements and contracts.
  • Understands the difference between selling transportation vs SAAS.
  • A make-it-happen person, who is flexible, adaptable and possesses a high sense of urgency.
  • Gets the job done right and on time, despite obstacles.
  • Excellent analytical, problems solving, and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
