Construction Project Manager for Commercial Plumbing Construction

We are seeking an organized and proactive Project Manager for our plumbing/mechanical construction projects out of the Sacramento office. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage all tasks such as contact documentation and estimates, tracking, and overseeing field superintendents, and managing the overall success of the project. The Project Manager is responsible for multiple projects that have an impact on the success of the business. Project Manager provides hands-on management at each job site. The indicators of success are to ensure that all projects are completed according to schedule, on budget, within deadlines, and in a safe manner.

Job Functions

• Coordinates with client and subcontractors to schedule job and Establishes project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Manages financial aspects of contracts (payments, rental equipment, income/expenses, monthly project review with management, etc.) to protect the company’s interests and simultaneously represent the client’s objectives.
• Forecasts materials, equipment, supplies, and machinery needed for each job. Monitors use of equipment, supplies and machinery to ensure ability to complete project as scheduled.
• Works with subcontractors, architects, engineers, MEP team, and other construction team to achieve job success.
• Maintains, tracks, and documents schedule and project requirements and produces change order documentation as needs evolve.
• Supervises work of direct reports: provides ongoing assignments, feedback and direction of work– delegates, monitors, provides feedback and controls work output to ensure high quality work.

Education/Experience Required

• Undergraduate degree desired (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Substantial construction industry experience over 5 years and combination of vocational education, apprentice training, on-the-job training, and on-the-job experience appropriate to position.
• Management/supervisory experience required.
• Minimum 5 years experience managing commercial construction projects.

Technical Skills Required

• Deep understanding of construction and MEP operations.
• Expert at managing time effectively to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and maintaining all schedules.
• Ability to make business decisions based on production reports and similar facts, as well as on experience and personal opinions.
• High level of competency in using personal computer and business solutions software skills in software programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook, Payroll systems, Daily Revenue system, and email.
• High level of competency in using applications on smart phone and personal computer.
• Must be able to access and communicate clearly via email and access job orders, including ability to convert and modify pdfs.
