About this position:

We are seeking a skilled SQL Server Database Developer with expertise in designing, optimizing, and maintaining databases for ASP.NET web applications. This role will play a key part in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our database systems to support our web application initiatives.

Salary Range: 90k-115k - commensurate with candidate's skills, experience, location, and qualifications. 

On a day-to-day basis you will:

1. Design and develop SQL Server database schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures for ASP.NET web applications.
2. Optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing strategies, and database tuning.
3. Implement data models and database architecture to meet application requirements and performance goals.
4. Collaborate closely with software developers to integrate database functionality into ASP.NET applications.
5. Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions to support data retrieval and manipulation.
6. Conduct database testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure data integrity and reliability.
7. Perform database migrations, upgrades, and backups in coordination with software releases and deployments.
8. Implement and enforce database security policies and best practices to protect sensitive data.
9. Stay abreast of new SQL Server features, tools, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement in database performance and scalability.

Required Education/Qualifications:

• Clearance: MUST be fully adjudicated & maintain a Top Secret security clearance or higher.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
• Certifications: Security+ CE Certified
• Proven experience as a SQL Server Database Developer working with ASP.NET web applications.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server database development, including T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance optimization techniques.
• Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and relational database
• Experience with database tools and utilities for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with version control systems and agile software development practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) such as creating, deploying and managing reports using SQL Server Data Tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell for automating routine database tasks, managing deployments, and maintaining database environments.
• Knowledge of Previous experience working with DoD systems, showcasing familiarity with defense-related projects and security requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project and SharePoint.
• Microsoft SQL Server Certification
