About this position:
We are seeking a skilled SQL Server Database Developer with expertise in designing, optimizing, and maintaining databases for ASP.NET web applications. This role will play a key part in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our database systems to support our web application initiatives.
Salary Range: 90k-115k - commensurate with candidate's skills, experience, location, and qualifications.
On a day-to-day basis you will:
- Design and develop SQL Server database schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures for ASP.NET web applications.
- Optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing strategies, and database tuning.
- Implement data models and database architecture to meet application requirements and performance goals.
- Collaborate closely with software developers to integrate database functionality into ASP.NET applications.
- Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions to support data retrieval and manipulation.
- Conduct database testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure data integrity and reliability.
- Perform database migrations, upgrades, and backups in coordination with software releases and deployments.
- Implement and enforce database security policies and best practices to protect sensitive data.
- Stay abreast of new SQL Server features, tools, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement in database performance and scalability.
Required Education/Qualifications:
- Clearance: MUST be fully adjudicated & maintain a Top Secret security clearance or higher.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications: Security+ CE Certified
- Proven experience as a SQL Server Database Developer working with ASP.NET web applications.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server database development, including T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance optimization techniques.
- Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and relational database
- Experience with database tools and utilities for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with version control systems and agile software development practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) such as creating, deploying and managing reports using SQL Server Data Tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell for automating routine database tasks, managing deployments, and maintaining database environments.
- Knowledge of Previous experience working with DoD systems, showcasing familiarity with defense-related projects and security requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project and SharePoint.
- Microsoft SQL Server Certification
