Computer Science Co-Teacher

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to reinforce touch-typing skills through initial introduction in preschool
• Knowledge of general computer vocabulary, computer number systems, hardware components, and software applications
• Ability to perform maintenance of hardware and software and install new versions of software, and perform file management
• Ability to assist lead teacher in maintaining student applications by ensuring the proper software is installed and monitoring file management
• Knowledge of PC Hardware
• Ability to learn applications as needed to support the computer program
• Ability to speak English fluently and use English in a grammatically correct fashion.
• Skill in internet navigation, HTML, and usage of computer vocabulary

Experience/Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 1 years teaching experience preferred, but not required

Working Conditions

Work is generally performed in a classroom setting with periodic field trips to various locations. Some assigned duties may be performed in inclement weather

Physical Requirements

Constant movement around the classroom is necessary to maintain close contact with students and respond to their needs. In addition, bending and lifting is necessary to set up classrooms, to gather supplies, perform duties, and to assist children, as necessary. It is essential teachers develop a warmth and friendliness with students and parents.
