Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Gymnastics Coach to lead our private Incline Village gymnastics club. This is a part-time position with general hours of 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays with some travel to gymnastics events and competitions. As Head Gymnastics Coach, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and inspiring young girls between age 7 to 15 to become outstanding gymnasts and achieve their full potential. Your expertise and enthusiasm will foster a positive learning environment where young girls and women can develop their gymnastics skills, build confidence, and cultivate a love for the sport.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive gymnastics training program, tailored to the age and varying skill levels for a diverse group of athletes.
- Conduct safe and engaging gymnastic classes, focusing on proper technique, skill progression, and injury prevention.
- Provide personalized instruction and constructive feedback to athletes to help them improve their skills and overcome challenges. Develop strategy plan and monitor progress.
- Instruct and effectively demonstrate gymnastic techniques and routines, ensuring athletes understand, execute them correctly, and safely.
- Supervise and support gymnasts during training sessions, competitions, and performances, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and mutual respect.
- Collaborate with key personnel and other coaches to develop and coordinate practice schedules, events, and competitions.
- Maintain a clean and organized gymnastics facility. This includes all equipment, inspection, maintenance, and all safety protocol adherence.
- High level of communication. Work with athletes and their parents/guardians, providing updates on progress, goals, and performance expectations.
- Stay informed about current gymnastics rules, techniques, and trends through continued education and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience in women's gymnastics.
- HEADS UP Concussion Certification or obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Coaching Certification & Membership from USA Gymnastics or obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Extensive knowledge of gymnastics skills, techniques, training methodologies, with the ability to teach and demonstrate them effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to connect with athletes of all ages and create a positive learning environment.
- Strong leadership qualities, including patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire athletes to reach their goals.
- CPR and First Aid certification or obtain them within a specified timeframe.
- HIPAA Certification or obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Travel for competition meets is REQUIRED.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, sportsmanship, and ethical conduct in coaching and training.
