Job Summary:

The Lead I provides logistical leadership and technical skills to the supervision and support of supply chain to achieve Quality and Compliance requirements. The Lead I ensures that inventory movements are transacted accurately and safely per SOP Guidelines. The Lead I provides for fair and impartial treatment of their employees by following company policies and department guidelines.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead to enhance communication between the warehouse, procurement, and production personnel with activities that effectively support packaging requirements to meet the production and shipping schedule
  • This is a working lead position. Individual will be required to perform on an as needed basis to support the day to day responsibilities of the Inventory Logistics Team
  • Train and evaluate Shipping Clerks, Inventory Control Specialist or Material Handler personnel to ensure the appropriate resources and talent are in place and in compliance with SOP's
  • Directs labor resources on the floor in anticipation of staffing needs to complete daily logistical demands and approves employees to leave before end of shift
  • Run various reports daily, weekly and monthly to ensure accurate posting of work orders and inventory movement
  • Assist in ensuring compliance to quality systems (SQF/GMP) product specifications, process instructions, safety requirements and company policies
  • Includes the diligent management of non-conformances to ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and resolution of any supply chain discrepancies. Elevate issues to the Supervisor or Manager timely
  • Initiate and review Daily Cycle Counts/Year End Physical Inventory. Investigate discrepancies and provide documentation for resolution
  • Participate in Audits (SQF, Costco, HEB, & OCC) and mock recalls as needed
  • Works with team on developing process improvements to support and maintain inventory accuracy and 7S standards
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), revise procedures as required for content and/or annual review
  • Responsible for employee training, ensure employee break times are followed, scheduling overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees and shift rotations
  • Provides direction on space utilization for supply chain storage
  • Oversees special projects as assigned
  • Forklift Certified and provide training as needed
  • Must be willing to grow and learn new tasks
  • Follow all company procedures and policies, especially with respect to Safety, Food Safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

Experience/ Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 2-4 years working in a manufacturing environment
  • 1 year in a leadership role
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) a plus
  • Knowledge of Food Safety Regulations, GMP and SQF
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Provide leadership, delegating skills and team building
  • Ability to carry out instructions to completion, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Develop and grow employees to improve processes and make changes
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and multitask duties
  • Demonstrate flexibility with work schedule; ability to work overtime to meet business demands
  • Excellent math skills, computer skills and knowledge of record keeping
  • Experience with RF Scanners, ERP, Microsoft, and Warehouse Management Software

Pay: $27.16 per hour

Hours: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
