POSITION TITLE: Heavy Civil Project Manager

PAY STATUS: Non-exempt

SUPERVISES: N/A

PAY RANGE: $150,000- $180,000

General Responsibility:

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget. This role will require exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively manage a diverse team of professionals and ensure the successful execution of construction projects.

Significant Duties:

Project Planning and Initiation:

• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  

• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  

• Secure necessary permits and approvals for construction projects.
  

• Assemble and lead project teams, assigning roles and responsibilities.

Budget and Cost Management:

• Create and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial accountability.
  

• Monitor project expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.

Schedule and Time Management:

• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are met.
  

• Implement effective time management strategies and adapt to unforeseen challenges.
  

• Foster a culture of punctuality and adherence to project timelines.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

• Identify potential risks and develop risk management plans.
  

• Proactively address issues that may impact project timelines or budget.
  

• Implement strategies to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  

• Implement quality control processes to meet project specifications and standards.
  

• Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on construction sites.

Communication and Stakeholder Management:

• Establish strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  

• Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management and clients.
  

• Address and resolve stakeholder concerns and issues promptly.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead, motivate, and mentor project teams, ensuring high levels of performance.
  

• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

• Provide coaching and professional development opportunities for team members.

Project Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and project records.
  

• Generate comprehensive progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  

• Keep project files organized and up to date.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
  

• A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry.
  

• Proven experience in successfully managing and delivering multimillion-dollar construction projects.
  

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
  

• PMP or other relevant project management certification is a plus.
  

• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  

• Proficient in project management software and tools.
