Job Description

Rehab Inpatient Supervisor - Full Time

This is a full time working supervisory position requiring hands-on patient care more than thirty (30) hours per week. In addition to patient care, the Inpatient Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, leading and controlling all aspects of inpatient and Swing Bed Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy services. Maintains appropriate budget parameters within the Rehabilitation Department. Schedules staff to maintain productivity levels within current benchmarking standards. Contributes to complying with Medicare Conditions of Participation for a Critical Access Hospital and requirements for licensure by the State of Nevada.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education:

  • Master’s degree or BS degree with a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Must have graduated from an accredited program for PT, OT, or SLP.

License Required:

  • Maintain current and valid licensure with State of Nevada.

Certification Required:

  • Maintain current BLS certification.

Minimum Work Experience:

  • Ability to communicate with employees, physicians, patients and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner.


POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Compliance

  • Maintains compliance with regulations governing hospitals and the rules of accrediting bodies by monitoring operations and initiating changes as needed.
  • Implements and develops therapy specific treatment programs (PT, OT, SP).
  • Prepares reports for administrative management and regulatory agencies (working together with Rehab Services Manager).

Policies/Education

  • Implements administrative and hospital policies.
  • Assists in developing departmental policies and procedures to ensure departmental effectiveness.
  • Participates in hospital /medical staff committee meetings as required.
  • Monitors staff to adhere to licensing and mandatory education guidelines.

Hospital Representation

  • Represents the hospital in a positive manner in the community.
  • Attends Community events.
  • Creates a positive atmosphere in his/her department.

Patient Care

  • Coordinated efforts to integrate patient care and support services throughout the system to accommodate inpatients and swing bed residents.
  • Maintains appropriate departmental staffing levels to provide quality care as needed (discipline specific).
