Job Description

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled Classic Car Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of classic car mechanics, along with a demonstrated ability to work on a diverse range of vintage vehicles. As a Classic Car Mechanic, you will play a pivotal role in preserving automotive history by restoring, maintaining, and repairing classic cars to impeccable standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on classic cars to identify mechanical issues and develop repair plans.
  • Execute repairs, overhauls, and restorations on classic car engines, transmissions, suspension systems, brakes, and other mechanical components.
  • Conduct routine maintenance procedures, including oil changes, tune-ups, and fluid checks, to ensure optimal performance and longevity of classic cars.
  • Fabricate and weld metal components as needed for restoration projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to original specifications.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including automotive technicians, painters, and upholsterers, to coordinate workflow and deliver high-quality results.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage of tools, equipment, and parts, to maximize efficiency and safety.
  • Keep detailed records of work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and customer communications, to ensure accurate billing and documentation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, explaining repair recommendations, and ensuring satisfaction with completed work.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a classic car mechanic, with a strong background in vintage vehicle restoration and maintenance.
  • Extensive knowledge of classic car systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and chassis components.
  • Proficiency in using specialized tools and equipment for classic car repair and restoration, such as engine hoists, welders, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to troubleshoot and repair classic car issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship, with a commitment to delivering flawless workmanship on every project.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and interact professionally with clients.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Certification from a reputable automotive school or equivalent training program is preferred.
  • Passion for classic cars and automotive history, with a genuine enthusiasm for preserving and restoring vintage vehicles.
