Job Description

The Internal Sales Desk and Operations Manager is responsible for leading and developing Meeder’s Internal Consultant team. The successful candidate will have a deep working knowledge of the financial services industry, including but not limited to capital markets, competitive intelligence and platform knowledge. This individual understands the relationship and interactions between Internal and External consultants and will have a proven track record in motivating and growing a phone-based sales team.

Additionally, this individual will provide oversight of the operational and administrative aspects of the Advisor Consulting Team. These aspects include responsibility for creating, maintaining and segmenting sales data and analytics for the purpose of improving sales management, strategy and performance. This person will also lead and coordinate the collection and distribution of data and qualitative information for the firm’s RFI (Request for Information) and DDQ (Due Diligence Questionnaire) process with broker dealers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sets performance standards, assesses performance against those standards, and provides regular and ongoing feedback to Internal Consultants.
  • Analyzes inbound and outbound call statistics, client feedback and prepares Sales Desk management reports on an ongoing basis; using available data to monitor problems and measure the success of the team and the business.
  • Schedules and assists in providing regular training opportunities for Internal Consultants to aid in their ongoing growth & development.
  • In partnership with the National Sales Manager, assists in the development of both sales-related initiatives and sales and marketing campaigns to achieve company goals.
  • Leads and/or participates in various technology projects with business groups to address needs unique to sales; overseeing and identifying methods to increase phone-based sales and solutions; including CRM and any databases used.
  • Mentors and develops the sales team to meet their goals and objectives and to support their career growth & aspirations.
  • Supports sales and executive management by partnering with cross-functional teams to obtain, develop, evaluate, organize and distribute meaningful sales data, analytics and information to support the success of sales and marketing strategies and scalability.
  • Improves the management of sales data resources and access points through technology and systems development.
  • Leads and coordinates the firm’s RFI (Request for Information) and DDQ (Due Diligence Questionnaire) process with broker dealers.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or related field required.
  • FINRA Series 6 and 65. Willingness to pursue Series 24 or 26.
  • Prior experience with and demonstrated ability to effectively lead, coach and develop direct reports with various tenure and skill levels.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in an operations or sales role supporting sales-based teams.
  • Prior experience in investment management and financial services required.
  • Expert level knowledge with Excel and other data-based software/technology.
