Job Title: Publishing Specialist
Location: Downtown Sacramento
Compensation: $31.00 - $36.00 hourly
The Publishing Specialist I will format and prepare work products in Microsoft Word and other software and will be responsible for consistent application of document preparation standards to all work products. Common tasks include inspecting the quality of materials before printing, such as verifying information, proofreading contents, and ensuring that the style meets the standard requirements and business guidelines.
Essential Functions:

- Work successfully within document templates and styles with table formatting knowledge.
- Manipulate PDFs in Adobe Acrobat or willingness to learn.
- Advanced or Expert level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, primarily Microsoft Word
With training, the following will become Essential Functions of this job
- Process draft sections of a document in preparation for internal review, client review, and/or Section 508 (ADA) compliance.
- Check cited references and acronyms for accuracy and completeness.
- Help project staff members organize responses to comment letters received on a Draft EIR.
- Create new document templates, working with graphics personnel, for plans and other types of presentation documents.
- Work with administrative staff to coordinate shipping and/or delivery of project deliverables.
- Proofread and edit letters, memos, EIR chapters, meeting minutes, or other documents.
- Provide guidance and support to other Ascertains in resolving issues with standard MS Office and Adobe software’s.
