Summary/Objective

Blackwatch is in search of an engineer with mechanical and technical aptitude to support new and legacy semiconductor manufacturing and facility equipment. The position requires organization, multi-tasking, collaborative teamwork, and exceptional services in support of the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) a Federal Research & Development (R&D) facility. This is a customer-facing role and requires compliance with customer policies and protocols. This hands-on position will perform a range of mission-critical semiconductor manufacturing support duties.

Responsibilities

  • Perform semiconductor equipment installations, decommissioning, preventative maintenance, calibrations, upgrades, modifications, and repairs.
  • Support semiconductor engineering teams with process testing and failure analysis.
  • Provide recommendations for semiconductor equipment enhancements, modifications, or upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and records.
  • Monitor stock level of service parts and equipment to ensure adequate inventory is available for repair work.
  • Perform routine safety inspections and removal of hazardous waste.
  • Handle, store and ship hazardous chemicals, material and waste according to regulatory requirements.
  • Train technicians on basic semiconductor equipment support and repairs.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on work experience working in one or more of the following semiconductor areas Diffusion, Deposition/Etching, Litho, Sputter, Wet Etching, and/or facilities.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks.
  • Flexible with change and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to perform physical actions such as frequent walking, standing for extended period, bend, stoop and lift/carry objects occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience with safe handling of process chemicals such as acids and solvents.
  • Willingness to work in cleanroom or laboratory environments.
  • Basic mathematics, chemistry, and electronics knowledge.
  • Ability to perform electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Desired Qualifications (not required, but a plus):

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Math, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent hands-on semiconductor equipment support work experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on work experience working on any of the following semiconductor equipment AMAT P5000, Canon i3/i5 Steppers, Centrotherm Activator Furnace, Endura, Varian E1000, Varian E500, KLA 5200, KLA 2139, KLA Quantox, OEM Heat Pulse RTP, Spray Solvent Tool, Thermco System Furnaces, and ICCI SLC99 Furnace.
  • Hands on experience coordinating semiconductor equipment installations and/or decommissioning.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Silicon Carbide manufacturing equipment and/or processes.
  • HAZMAT Certified
  • CA Title 22 Hazardous Waste Generator Training
  • Forklift and Aerial Lift Certified
  • Experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment or facility.
  • Experience in cleanroom, wastewater, chemical, hazardous waste environments.
