Patient Service Coordinator

Job Summary

We are a Pediatric Medical Practice seeking a Bilingual (English/Spanish) patient service coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for providing general office support with a variety of clerical related tasks. Responsibilities to include answering incoming telephone calls, directing calls to appropriate personnel, handling new client intakes, mail distribution, as well as performing clerical duties like filing, scanning and photocopying. Responsibilities

Greets and welcomes visitors and patients in a friendly and professional manner.

Answers all telephone calls ensuring that all calls are returned, transferred, and/or closed properly.

Checks all administrative messages (voicemails, emails, etc.) in a timely manner and completes all system tasks as assigned, including replying to email inquiries, distributing electronic faxes and sending information to the referring provider.

Maintain the confidentiality of all patient medical records and information.

Performs order entry and scheduling of different procedures into our EMR system.

Performs patient check-in and check-out procedures including collection of co-pays and balances.

Other administrative and clerical duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a medical setting or in a similar role is preferred.

High school diploma

Knowledge of medical terminology and administrative processes

Familiarity with information management programs, Microsoft Office, and other computer programs

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills in English AND Spanish is a must.

General knowledge of HIPAA regulation
