Job Description
Salary: $75,000 to $80,000

General Position Summary:


The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing the safe and efficient operation of the production day shift. The Production Supervisor ensures all products are produced to the established quality standards, achieves the production targets whilst ensuring employees are working safely. The Production Supervisor will collaborate with other team members in Production, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, HR and Sanitation departments to ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed. The position requires a proactive, energetic professional who leads by example who will be a key team member supporting the growth of the business.


Essential Job Functions

  • Take full responsibility of the production team in terms of management of staff, management of production and quality targets and ensures smooth running of production processes.
  • Take full responsibility of the quality of product that is produced within the shift in line with the company’s quality systems, processes and procedures.
  • Manage, develop and motivate direct reporting staff.
  • Monitor, measure and report on production performance and any relevant issues.
  • Ensures good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff.
  • Ensures Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to in line with the companies Health and Safety policy.
  • Ensure all GMP practices are adhered to supporting a Food Safety culture.
  • Problem solving and troubling shooting skills are used to identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand.
  • Work closely with other Shift Supervisors and Shift Leads to ensure production handovers are effective.
  • Ensure that the training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
  • Participates in the interviewing and hiring of production personnel.
  • Collaborates with other departments to resolve issues and find solutions.
  • Monitors and controls labor hours.
  • Maintains 5S standards throughout the facility.
  • Identifies opportunities related to safety improvements.
  • Assists in training, developing, supporting employees in all departments.
  • Reviews performance regularly with the Production Manager.
  • Conducts performance reviews with team members.
  • Creates and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and supporting training documentation.
  • Proactively proposes improvement ideas and promotes open communication with all team members.
  • Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by manager and other senior management.

 

Skills and experience

  • 3-5 years of previous supervisory experience in Food Manufacturing.
  • Flexibility in working hours, available for weekends when required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work environment:
This position requires working in a temperature-controlled plant environment which can include exposure to loud noise. Hearing protection is provided and mandatory to wear.


Schedule:

Shift schedule is 2pm - 10:30pm, with some flexibility required. The role is Monday - Friday, plus Saturdays as needed.
