GST is a prime contractor for TSA under the Department of Homeland Security.

We are looking for an experienced Configuration Management Analyst to support our Crystal City office in Arlington, VA. Our CMA’s are regularly involved in all six elements of the CM process as detailed in many guidelines & handbooks.

Successful candidates will have a college degree or relevant configuration management experience, but military experience will also be considered in lieu of.

MUST BE US CITIZEN. Heavily prefer someone who currently holds a DHS Secret Security Clearance. Will accept Public Trust, DoD Security Clearance, or clearable people who will also pass DHS’s strict suitability guidelines.

Complete Description

As a Configuration Management analyst, you will play a vital role in the configuration management of both developmental and operational systems. You will work collaboratively with a team to create and maintain configuration baselines for various stages, including development, testing, and production. Utilizing your expertise, you will recommend and utilize automated configuration management tools to implement and enforce configuration policies and procedures. Additionally, you will develop and modify configuration management plans, policies, and procedures based on the complexity and scope of the system.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for configuration management activities, including product identification, change control, status accounting, operation of the program support library, and development and monitoring of equipment/system acceptance plans.
  • Coordinates, prepares, and conducts Configuration Control Boards, identify, monitor, and report on configuration.
  • Coordinates with users and systems development personnel on releases of both system-level software and applications software.
  • Controls configuration baselines and interfaces through Engineering Change Proposal/Specification processing
  • Supports development of Build Notes, Release Notes, and Version Description Document
  • Responsible for configuration management of requirements, design, and code.
  • Manages Technical Data Packages from requirements collection to software deployment
  • Monitors library structure and procedures to assure system integrity, including procedures for collection, release, production, test, and emergency libraries and the movement/migration of components between libraries.
  • Monitors end item acceptance plans.
  • Proven ability to liaise between programmers, designers, IT personnel and customers and other stakeholders
  • Fulfills contract data requirements as preparing drafts, forwarding correspondence, preparing and processing CM required data items; and compiles, prepares, and maintains the master records for the establishment and change of configuration baselines, engineering release system, configuration item development record (including the configuration index and change status listing), and configuration status accounting
  • Provides solutions supporting parallel development and facilitate product branching and merging activities
  • Conducts configuration audits
  • Implements configuration and change management solutions and provides support to the system engineering, software engineering, and testing teams
  • Able to perform some administrative tasks associated with planning, scheduling, and documenting meetings
  • Must be highly adaptable to perform a diverse set of tasks not outlined above.


Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • 3 years of experience as a Configuration Management analyst on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Ability to assist in implementing hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures.

Preferred Requirements

  • Relevant certifications in configuration management (e.g., ITIL, CCMP, SEC+, CMII Certification).
  • Experience working in a classified or sensitive environment.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard configuration management tools.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Working knowledge of BMC Remedy, and Salesforce
  • Experience supporting CM programs for the DHS, TSA, DoD or FAA is a plus, and will be given preference.
