New Patient Coordinator

EXPERIENCE IN ORTHOPEDICS IS REQUIRED-
Scheduler is responsible for receiving incoming patient calls and scheduling all new patient appointments. Obtains verification of insurance eligibility, workers compensation insurance, and other pre - authorization requirements. Schedule patients appointments based on physicians availability and preference.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology a MUST- especially ORTHOPEDICS
Successful candidates will be highly motivated and driven to be successful, extremely detail orientated, have the ability to multi-task and work hard to meet productivity requirements. They will also be very positive and willing to learn from others as well learn from their own mistakes taking constructive criticism in a positive way. Teamwork is a must.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls from all new patients and collect necessary information for data entry, scheduling and billing purposes.
- Obtain referrals prior to the patient being scheduled.
- Utilize computer system to input new patient data and schedule appointments based on physician availability and urgency.To include extensive workers compensation registration and collection of all previous medical records.
- Verify insurance information.
- Inform patients to bring all pertinent records and X-rays to their appointment.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multi task.
- Mail out new patient packets.
- Comply with HIPAA guidelines to protect patient data.
