Location: Washington, Indiana or nearby Columbus, Ohio

Basic Function: Responsible for maintaining existing customers and developing new customers. Researches and finds new suppliers, supports customer’s technical issues. Responsible for extruded parts business.

Essential Duties:

  • Sales

1. Maintain good relationships with existing customers and obtain orders.

2. Develop new customers by planning and organizing daily work schedule to research prospective customers and the products they need.

3. Submits orders and information to Inside Sales for processing orders, creating invoices and collections.

4. Review the sales budget monthly with the Sales Manager.

5. Create documents requested from customers including quotations, part/product approval, and supplier approval. Maintains any Portal or on-line based information used by customer.

6. Visit customers frequently and when needed to assess their needs, solve their issues and give information.

7. Contact customers for past due invoices and collect on unpaid invoices.

  • Purchasing

1. Reviews sales forecasts and historical material usage to develop and execute build to order and build to forecast plans.

2. Acts as a liaison between suppliers and customers. Provides customer’s information/situation to supplier in order to create smooth working relationship.

3. Negotiates terms, monitors suppliers’ progress, and checks the quality of service provided.

4. Seeks for potential suppliers, visits existing suppliers, builds and maintains good relationships with them.

5. Tracks and manages inventory to maintain the stock level according to the forecast monthly.

6. Visits suppliers when needed to audit their manufacturing process, quality of the products, and delivery.

  • Quality Control

1. Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to customers. Acts as liaison between supplier and customer in Quality Control situations.

  • Others

1. Keeps management informed by submitting activity and result reports.

2. Monitors markets and competitors’ activity to keep up with the market trends, learn new products, prices, merchandising techniques, etc.

3. Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources for the purpose of providing information.

4. Takes part in customer audits or visits to suppliers as sales window.

5. Supports Sales Manager on internal tasks/reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education / Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Chemical related degree is preferred.
  • More than 2-3 years sales experience or freight experience.

Attributes/skills:

  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office with expertise in Microsoft Excel.
