JOB SUMMARY

Aligns technology solutions with business needs, making strategic decisions about budgets, equipment, and workflows to integrate systems, staff, and vendors and optimizes the use of technology by the organization. Identifies and prioritizes needs, defines performance metrics, and establishes and manages projects and vendors. Works closely with internal system owners to identify new system requirements, evaluate capabilities, oversee implementation, and correspond continuously with vendors to ensure accountability for smooth operating systems. Empowers and engages staff around organizational core values: teamwork, customer focus, and professional competency.

This is NOT an IT infrastructure management position. Most of NEW Solutions’ IT environment is cloud-based and we partner with a managed service provider for infrastructure and help desk support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides leadership to, and support for, IT staff, and oversees the operations and activities of the IT department including the development and maintenance of IT policies and standard operating procedures. Recruits and retains IT talent. Develops and manages the IT budget,
  • Develops and maintains a technology strategy and plan that incorporates emerging technology trends and practices that would benefit the organization.
  • Collaborates with staff and partners to develop business and functional requirements and processes to manage applications to ensure they meet business needs requirements, and comply with policies (e.g., security and privacy). Coordinates testing of new applications and upgrades. Provides oversight and planning of enterprise-level system(s) to ensure they are regularly optimized to meet the strategic and operational objectives of the organization.
  • Ensures technology projects are well-managed, within budget, scope, and schedule constraints using a consistent project management methodology. Provides regular project status reports to leadership and staff.
  • Oversees data governance and data analytics to ensure the effective management and use of data to drive business decisions. Ensures that enterprise applications are integrated to eliminate and/or minimize manual duplicative entries or imports and exports.
  • In partnership with a managed service provider, responsible for managing the IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technical support and ensures compliance with organization policies and applicable regulations. Coordinates technology training for staff. Develops and maintains a business continuity and disaster recovery plan.
  • Selects and manages vendor partners and builds and maintains relationships with them and ensures they perform effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Technical
    • Experience working with enterprise-level applications (CRM, CMS, LMS, financial systems), data management, analytics, and business intelligence.
    • Project management.
    • Requirements analysis.
    • Familiar with data integration approaches.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange online, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
    • Experience with IT service management.
    • Familiar with cybersecurity management concepts and approaches.
  • Non-technical
    • Demonstrated experience with leading successful teams in a virtual environment.
    • Experience with change management.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Experience in developing and implementing strategic and operational IT plans.
    • Collaboration skills with the ability to lead initiatives, projects, staff development, and program improvement activities.
    • Demonstrated experience in interpersonal skills, negotiations, problem-solving, mentorship and conflict resolution.
    • Experience with vendor management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master's Degree
  • 15+ Years

Education and experience requirements may be substituted on a year-for-year basis by relevant, demonstrated, progressive, and directly related education/work experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical requirements include the dexterity to reach, stand, climb, move, finger keyboards, lift light loads, and the ability to also function in a stationary position.
